Political junkies know that it is still far too early in the race to handicap the U.S. Presidential election. November 2012 is still too far away. Grumbling on the Democratic side has been calling for a party challenge to Obama — if only to force the President into more solid positions. But, for right now at least, it is the GOP primary which has been the more interesting internal struggle.
The Republican Party stands a very real chance of running as an anti-Science party this year. And that is part of what makes the race interesting, for a number of reasons.
During World War 2, The Walt Disney Studios were recruited by the U.S. Government to make pro-American propaganda.
This propaganda film — originally titled "Donald Duck in Nutzi Land" — made by Disney in 1943, shows the living conditions of the Fascist Reich Donald Duck must undergo.
This is the cartoon from which the song “Der Fuhrer’s Face” comes. The song was very popular among American GIs fighting abroad.
The Disney Corporation for many years afterward withdrew from circulation most of its war period propaganda films, keeping the films locked in the company vault. Most of these Disney films, therefore, have never been seen by the general public. They represent, in part, a much darker aspect of the Disney studio corporate history.

RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT CONFISCATES ARTWORK
The Russian government this week CONFISCATED this recent painting, "The Rulers", by Konstanin Altunin — a painting depicting Russian President Vladimir Putin & Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev wearing women’s lingerie:
THUS ensuring a renewed & exponentially larger expansion of social awareness of an otherwise mediocre & inconsequential artistic expression.
THUS ensuring the image’s dispersal & longevity on the internet.
THUS ensuring the “immortality” of something that otherwise would not have achieved even notoriety.
Institutional attempts to suppress information both inadvertently & exponentially INCREASE the rate of internet virility. Shit backfires.
The #irony inherent in this observable phenomenon also contributes to the rapid counter-institutional emergent internet reaction.
UPDATE: [28AUG13]: News agencies report that after Russian government agents seized "The Rulers" painting from the gallery where it was being shown: Artist Konstanin Altunin has fled the country and is seeking political asylum in France.
